Ha ha! Success! I managed to tinker with the site without fucking it up royally. I am an HTML Queen! Well, not really. I just now managed to figure out how to get my diaryrings off the main page and on a seperate page of their own. Shut up.
Because I have nothing important to rant about, what with my student loans and class schedule finally being cleared up, I'm going to rant about Alias. Pay no attention if you don't watch, or don't want to be spoiled.
Dude, Sunday's ep? Blew my effing brain. It answered so many questions, but managed to raise twice as many. Sydney was herself the whole time? The fuck? Sydney is the Chosen One (pretty sure that was Buffy, but whatever) to bring forth some kind of Rambaldi prophecy baby? The fuck? Vaughn had moved on and started dating NINE MONTHS after Syd's death? The FUCK? Lauren is evil? The- no, wait. I've been calling that one since before the season started. What the hell is going on? Clearly, the writers have found some new experimental drug, and have gone off the deep end with it. Nutters.
What really concerns me, though, is the direction Sark's character is taking (big shock, that, ain't it?). One of the things I loved so much about him was that he was never out-and-out evil, you know? He's always seemed to move to and fro in this lovely spectrum of gray. Lately, he's been moving towards the darker end of the spectrum, and that? Pisses me off. The last thing I want to see for him is a turn to cartoon villainy. I fear, however, with the rumours of upcoming Larkage, that that's what's happening. I just hope that there is some unknown reason for all of this, that Sark has some kind of ulterior motives in working for the Covenant, and Lauren.
JJ Abrams is a torturous bastard.
Anyway, I went to see Return of the King last night, finally. Words cannot express how much I loved it. Everyone was fantastic, especially the hobbits. They were all great, and Sean Astin in particular was outstanding. I apologize for all the jokes I made at his expense because of the whole Encino Man incident. Favourite scenes: The heartbreaking goodbye scene between Merry and Pippin; the lighting of the beacons; Sam kicking some Shelob ass; Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas arriving with the army of the dead; Eowyn's "I am no man."; Aragorn's rousing speech before the final battle; the destruction of the ring (and Gollum, cuz I lost all symptathy for that fucker when he turned my wee Frodo against Sam); the reunion of the Fellowship; the crowning of Aragorn and everyone bowing to the hobbits... Holy shit. I could go on for weeks, and I'm sure I would be leaving out scenes that I loved. The movie is just so massive. I'll have to see it again and again to fully take in everything that happened. I'm kind of sad that it's over now, though.
Blah. I have class.

Listening to: "It's My Life" by No Doubt. I loved the way they used it in "Alias".
